About the $185 Cleaning Fee
The cleaning fee covers professional cleaning performed after checkout — not something guests need to worry about during their stay. After you leave, the property is thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
During the post-checkout walkthrough, the property is checked for any damage or missing items such as towels, bed linens, or other furnishings. If anything is found to be damaged or missing, the guest will be charged for replacement or repair based on an assessment — which may include a contractor's estimate for property damage.
This process keeps the home in excellent condition for every guest and ensures you always arrive to a clean, well-maintained space.
About Florida Tourist Taxes
Florida law requires short-term rental owners to collect tourist development taxes on all rental income. These taxes are not set by the owner — they are mandated by the state and county and must be collected.
- 6% Florida State Sales Tax — collected by all short-term rentals statewide
- 5% Polk County Tourist Development Tax — specific to Polk County where Davenport is located
Both taxes are applied to your nightly rent total (not to the cleaning fee or security deposit) and are collected at check-in. Combined tax rate: 11%.
